Movie (The Hustle Anthem)

We want to congratulate Wavy OT, aka Daniel Talabi, on the beginning of his music career with the release of his new single Movie (The Hustle Anthem).

Q: Tell us about your new project, Movie. It sounds like an emotional song. How did you come up with this, what is the idea behind the words?

A: My song Movie was inspired by the rough edges I found myself in at the time I was composing the song. It was like I was taking a rough path just to make things right and I had no one to open up to about how I was feeling at that time, so I just went to my notepad, and I composed the song based on how I was feeling.

Q: As a young man coming from Lagos, is it a struggle to make it, is that why you came up with the title “The Hustle Anthem”?

A: As a young boy coming out from Lagos Nigeria it is more than a struggle to make it out of the hood/streets, you need GOD, dedication, persistence and resilience to make it. That is why I named my song the street hustler’s anthem because I feel that with my song a lot of young people on the streets can relate to my story.

Q: How do you feel as a new Afrobeat artist with this record coming out, since you’ve been dreaming of this for a long time?

A: First off, I have to say I thank GOD, and this is a motivation for myself to keep doing what I am doing. It is like a dream come true for me I bless GOD; I thank my team for discovering me, believing in me and giving me this chance. Also, I thank myself for not giving up on myself.

Q: What do you want your audience to know about you?

A: I want my audience to know me for a guy that never gives up. I want to be known for my great artwork. I want to be known as that guy that keeps it real with his music and I want to be known for that guy who is never tired of trying again.
